Controlling pumps and solenoid valves using a small float switch can be a tricky business as many small switch devices can only handle around 0.5 amps. Trying to configure relays and contactors to switch higher loads than the float switch can handle requires good electrical knowledge, it can also be expensive and time consuming.
The SAS2 relay control box offers a simple and cost effective solution to the problem. It incorporates a Compac Engineering solid state relay which is mounted in an aluminium case, the case also acts as a heat sink for the relay. The SAS2 allows the user to switch small devices up to 3 amps using voltages from 24 to 240v AC. The user simply wires in a fused mains cable, device cable and the switch, the SAS2 complements all of the switches in the switch and sense range.
The relay must be powered using the required voltage for the device it is running (if the user is running an 110v solenoid valve then a 110v supply is required). The user must also be aware that the switch device (float switch, temperature switch or flow switch) will also be powered using the same voltage as the line and device (again, if the user is running a 110v solenoid valve the switch will also use 110v). If the user is concerned about this then we would recommend using the SAS1 control box.
The SAS2 is supplied with full, simple to follow instructions. We would recommend that if you are unsure about any electrical item then DO CONSULT A QUALIFIED PERSON.
